My love of sculpture began whilst I was at primary school and continued through to university, where I studied a Visual Arts degree. I then went on to teach for five years, during which time I worked as an art teacher with children who had been excluded from school. |
Whilst in Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe my love of sculpture was firmly established. I was drawn by the abundance of colour and use of light along with some inspirational Shona stone sculpture. The contrast between the solidity of stone and fragility of glass has drawn me to experiment with how I might be able to work with both materials. |
My desire to explore and work with both stone and glass has brought sculpture to the forefront of my life and I am keen to explore these materials in new and innovative ways. Please feel free to contact me with any questions and I hope you enjoy my work. Richard |
